The RMC Cabinet:
Our RMC is our biggest cabinet made to a modular design and is purpose-built to meet customers’ needs including housing of EV charging equipment, metering panels such as CT Chambers and distribution equipment just to name a few.

Electrical Equipment Protection and Specialised Additional Accessories:
With an IP rating of IP24 with Louvers, and IP46 without, the RMC is well-suited to prevent water ingress. They also possess an IK10 rating that guarantees protection from up to 20J of exterior impact, making them more than suitable for protecting electrical equipment in the most inhospitable external environments.
To give the RMC practical protection in as many environmental conditions as possible, we use powder coating to give an added layer of protection to the cabinet whilst ensuring an aesthetically pleasing finish. Available powder coating options include black, dark grey, light grey and dark green. If these colours are not suitable our in house paint shop can create custom colours upon request, for an additional fee.
The RMC is adaptable, offering additional enclosure accessories, from additional lights to heating and fan kits, so customers can specialise their enclosures to further meet their needs.
Further options for the cabinet include peaked roofs to prevent rain from accumulating, access panels for quicker cabinet entry, cable entry holes for easier cable access, and optional louvre vents (subject to metalwork modification) to name a few. For customer convenience, we also added removable lifting lugs to the roof for easier maneuverability and installation with a max lifting capacity of 640kg.
Houses Different Sizes of Electronic Equipment:
Fitted with an 18mm external grade plywood backboard, and sold with a corresponding plinth to ensure a stable installation, the RMC keeps all electrical equipment housed neatly. We offer RMC enclosures in different sizes, RMC1250, RMC1600 and RMC2100, each with different specs to accommodate all equipment sizes.
Environmentally Friendly GRP Alternative:
We ensure the RMC, and wider product range, are as environmentally friendly as possible. For example, we construct the RMCs from 20mm stainless steel, in either 4003, 304 or 316 grade, meaning they serve as a GRP alternative, being more durable, fully recyclable and longer lasting, coming with our Ritherdon 25 year guarantee. Because of the Stainless Steel construction, they can also be installed anywhere inland or coastally.
EV Feeder Pillar Capability and CT Chambers:
RMCs can now be used as an EV Feeder Pillar, compatible with EV charging stations across the UK. They are used as free-standing feeder pillars, featuring double doors with no internal separation and plenty of space for electrical equipment.
Ritherdon CT Chambers are also housed inside our RMC enclosure. Our CT Chambers house current transformers that transform high voltage currents to low voltage for metering purposes.
They come in 200, 400 and 600 Amp capabilities and are compatible with DNO (Distribution Network Operator) and BNO (Building Network Operator) networks across the UK. We offer a pre wiring service for our CT Chambers, installing them inside the RMC saving time upon installation.
Multiple Security Options:
Providing safe and secure cabinets is one of our biggest priorities. We assemble the RMC with a three point locking system with an L handle that is secured with a padlock and shroud (Padlock not included – 10mm shackle) to protect electrical equipment against theft and vandalism. We’ve also secured the doors with strong, spring loaded bolts and door stays to hold the doors in place and prevent any unwanted entry.
