Electric Meter Box R3 Flush Mounted – Zinc coated steel
Fully recessed with the door flush with the wall structure. The preferred answer for installations in corridors in multi-storey buildings, where fire and fume hazards cannot be tolerated and where there is no equivalent GRP meter box available.
Cupboard and door supplied as separate items to allow installation of the cupboard during building work and attachment of the door later to protect its finish.
Method of attachment of door and frame to pre-fixed box allows for some degree of adjustment. Meter board and earthing stud fitted to box as standard. Cable entry holes fitted with blind grommets to allow choice of positioning.
All boxes fitted with slam lock and supplied with easy-to-handle triangular plastic key. Available in ESI Small, Medium and Large sizes.

Electric Meter Box R5 Standard Semi Recessed – Zinc coated Steel
We designed the R5 back in the 1970s for the electricity boards who needed a more vandal-resistant and sometimes fire-resistant alternative to the plastic meter box. The design matching most closely in appearance the standard Small GRP box.
Supplied in two halves allowing fitting of the box during building work and hanging of the door later when there is less chance of site damage. Designed so that the door can be hung on the left or right hand side of the pre-installed box to best suit local conditions.
Meter board and earthing stud fitted to the box as standard. Cable entry holes fitted with blind grommets to allow choice of positioning. All boxes fitted with slam lock and supplied with easy to handle triangular plastic key. Available in ESI Small, Medium and Large sizes.

Fire Rated Version
In 1979 the standard R5 was tested to the BS476 Part 8 standard and gave 38 minutes fire resistance. In 2013 we re-tested an upgraded version of the R5 to the latest, European fire resistance test method (BS EN1363 and 1366) and this model achieved more than 60 min fire resistance. The cupboard to choose when a totally surface mounted installation is required. A particularly strong unit supplied with meter board and earthing point. Door fitted with weather resistant neoprene gasket and slam lock complete with key. Cable entry facilities are provided in the back of the box and in the base.

Electric Meter Box R16 Surface Mounted – Stainless Steel
The Large R16 in stainless steel is the meter box to choose when a surface mounted installation with extra strength and durability, is required. Manufactured from stainless steel, this is a particularly strong unit which will last even longer in harsh environments. Internally, it is also our largest standard meter box. Precisely because of its larger size, it is suitable for housing a three-phase meter.
The R16 meter box is supplied with a meter board and an earthing point. The door is fitted with weather resistant neoprene gasket and a slam lock complete with key. Cable entry facilities are provided in the back of the box and in the base.

Made to the dimensions specified in the Electricity Supply Industry ESI 12-3, the range of Small, Medium and Large boxes are designed for semi-recessed, flush or surface mounting fitting. The meter boxes are fabricated from corrosion-resistant, zinc-plated steel (the R16 is stainless steel) and are normally powder coated white for a very durable finish.
