2023 Highlights at Ritherdon:
Eagerly anticipating what the new year will bring and taking stock of the past year. Here are a few highlights of 2023 at Ritherdon that we wanted to share:
National Highways
- We have been able to see the newly installed NH640 Cabinets that we supplied popping up on the M6 Junction 21 Project.
- The first of many installations of new weather stations in Accrington featuring the new Ritherdon National Highways Roadside Electrical Cabinet, which coincidentally is also quite close to the Ritherdon factory in Darwen. For further detail, read the Case Study.
- Our National Highways Range has kept growing with the introduction of the NH609N Cabinet, as well as its corresponding Pedestal.
- Even more added to the range as we have kept refining our National Highways PDU offering with Adaption Kits to cater to the many different applications of highways technology.
- We were able to play hosts in our factory in Darwen, for National Highways Workshop in September.
Environmental
- We have been able to reap the benefits of a new paint booth, recycling up to 90% of our powder coating this year!
- It has been a full year of using the new paint shop, watch the full installation time-lapse.
Further Training and Improvements:
- Our staff have become certified in Six Sigma and Lean Management to further increase our productivity and efficiency with more staff members due to undertake this training this year.
- Lots of internal product testing and product development has occurred behind the scenes which will stand us in good stead for years to come.

- We have integrated our new robot welding arm into our production process and have begun training in its operation.

Community:
- This year we once again opened up the factory to our local Darwen community for Heritage Open Days in September, taking part in this nationwide festival.
- Ritherdon has once again kept its promise to be a real living wage employer and supporter of the National Living Wage campaign.
