What are Our Meter Boxes?
Our Meter Boxes are designed to protect electrical equipment from external environmental factors, including extreme weather and vandalism.
Ritherdon Meter Boxes are also able to be fitted over damaged GRP (glass reinforced plastic) enclosures to upgrade and repair these Meter Boxes, without requiring a gas or electric mains disconnection.
Our Meter Boxes are available in three different types, steel, electric, and gas coming with our 25-year guarantee and powder coated in Satin White as standard, however, they can be made to any colour upon request for an additional charge.
Steel Meter Boxes:
In the UK, there are several variations of meter boxes designed to suit different installation preferences and requirements. The most common types include surface-mounted, recessed, and semi-recessed or semi concealed meter boxes.
Surface mounted boxes are fixed to the exterior of a property and are the most visible type. Recessed or flush mounted meter boxes are installed within the wall cavity hence they can sit flush or flat against the wall. Semi-Recessed meter boxes are partially buried into the wall, leaving only the door visible, while semi concealed boxes tend to be buried in the ground with only the top part of the meter box visible. Each type offers unique features to accommodate different aesthetic and practical needs.
Ritherdon supply complete Meter Boxes made from Stainless Steel and Zintec (depending on the model) as a durable metal alternative to grp meter boxes.
To match the different types of meter boxes, Ritherdon offer:
Surface Mounted R16 Meter Box (in Stainless Steel, available Medium and Large).
