R24 for Semi Concealed Gas Boxes

Floor mounted (aka semi-concealed or semi-buried or ground meter box) gas meter boxes are particularly susceptible to damage as they can be stepped on or have things dropped on them. The sharp edges of a broken GRP box at ground level are also a notable hazard.

As with the rest of our range, fitting the R24s is very easy. An R24 lid fits the meter box in the same way as the original plastic lid and the lid and frame units fasten through the plastic box with a screw and nut. All the necessary fittings are supplied with the units.

*Please note that to fix to your meter box, the dimensions must be no more than 20mm larger than your current meter box.

**Width refers to the distance from left-to-right, depth refers to the distance from front-to-back, and height refers to the distance from top-to-bottom.

Previously Ritherdon only manufactured and supplied replacement lids for this type of gas meter box. However, we now have three options for repairing them:

  1. Replacement lids – the R24M and R24H lids for repairing Mitras boxes and Hepworth boxes respectively.
  2. Replacement lid and frame units – if the damage to the body is too great simply to replace the lid.
  3. Replacement lid and body units for pre-payment meter boxes. (R24M Tall)

Delivery if in Stock is 48hrs from receipt of order* for finished and painted stock, or within 5 working days, for finished stock that requires powder coating. For Natural Finish from stock, lead time is 4 working days.

For large quantity orders, non-stock items and FireSeals Made-to-Measure, the lead time is 4 working weeks.  

Any prewired feeder pillars and cabinets with electrical items have a lead time of 4 to 8 working weeks.

Current Design time for any new sizes of FireSeals or other products, please add 2 working weeks to stated lead times.

*Any proforma orders received need to be paid before the order is processed and lead times start.
