BT Termination Pegs are small feeder pillars are also known as PJL or ‘Post Joint Large’. Its primary function is to house a telephone joint, providing a communication line from the central traffic management computer (such as Transport for London’s systems or corresponding local authority systems) to the local traffic signal controller unit. This communication link allows the central system to manage signal coordination and provide fault monitoring.
The BT Termination Pegs or PJL allows telecommunications engineers to test their equipment without needing to access the larger, main traffic signal controller cabinet.
The Ritherdon BT Termination Peg is a replacement for existing corroded “Pegs” which are usually located next to the signal controller cabinets.
The units are manufactured from stainless steel and powder coated grey, and include a neoprene lining and plastic fascia. The pegs are manufactured in two sizes with original BT type tri-key fixing screws and a modified flange for easier routeing of the conduit into the base of the termination post.
Two widths of Peg are available. Replacement caps (or covers) can be purchased separately from the bodies.
