Prewired EV Charging Feeder Pillar – 2500A Three Phase | Up to 8 Ways for Ultra Rapid EV Chargers
Built for demanding high power charging installations, this Prewired EV Feeder Pillar is engineered for ultra rapid charging hubs where speed, capacity, and reliability are critical.
Designed for a three phase 2500A supply and supporting up to 8 outgoing ways, it is the ideal infrastructure solution for Motorway Service Areas, Major Transport Hubs and Fleet Depots, all destinations where drivers expect to charge in minutes, not hours.
Supporting up to 8 outgoing ways for ultra rapid charge points, it delivers a futureproof, high capacity setup with efficient power distribution across multiple chargers from a single, neatly prewired enclosure, fully compliant with IEC61439-7.
Flexibility to configure earthing arrangements, surge protection, and metering means the pillar can be tailored precisely to your site and DNO requirements.

Functional Devices
DNO Incoming Section
The incoming section includes a 2500A rated 4-pole ABB Switch-Disconnector, providing a robust and reliable means of isolation at the supply intake, essential at the current levels required for ultrarapid charging infrastructure.
Individual Access Metering Enclosure
Metering is housed in an attached mini enclosure (with individual access) handled by one set of three 2500/5A, 20VA Class 0.5 CTs, wired to a COP5 Metering Panel complete with metering voltage fuse, Wago test circuit terminals, and metering wiring, ready for DNO connection.
Outgoing Section
Up to 8 outgoing ways are each protected by a 400A 4-pole MCCB rated at 50kA, fitted with a digital trip unit and M10 cable connections. All cable exits are below the unit via an aluminium gland plate, keeping the installation clean and accessible.
Surge Protection
Type 1 & 2 surge protection devices are connected directly to the main busbar via a 63A MCB, providing comprehensive protection against transient over voltages, particularly important at sites with high power, high frequency charging activity.
Auxiliary & Additional Equipment
Two 150W anticondensation heaters with thermostat are fitted as standard, fed via a 6A RCBO. A 16A MCB is provided to auxiliary supplies, along with a 10A customer socket outlet.
Common Applications
The 2500A EV Feeder Pillar with up to 8 Ways is purpose built for ultra rapid charging hubs where turnaround time is critical and drivers expect a meaningful charge in under 20 minutes. Ultrarapid chargers can deliver up to 100 miles of range in as little as 10 minutes, making them essential infrastructure at high footfall locations.
Common sites for ultra rapid chargers include:
Motorway Service Areas: The primary destination for ultra rapid charging, serving drivers on long distance journeys who need a fast, reliable top-up before continuing. High vehicle throughput makes the 2500A supply capacity essential.
Major Transport Hubs: Airports, train stations, and bus interchanges increasingly require ultra rapid charging to serve both private vehicles and short stay visitors with limited dwell time.
Petrol Forecourt Replacements & EV Hubs: As forecourt operators transition to electric, ultra rapid chargers replicate the speed and convenience of traditional refuelling, requiring high capacity power distribution feeder pillars to match.
