Ritherdon’s compact feeder pillars are durable, stainless steel enclosures designed for external power distribution. Our R Pillars and RH Pillars are commonly installed on roadsides to protect and house electrical connections for traffic signals, street lighting, and utility infrastructure.

We also offer a prewired feeder pillar option across both ranges – saving time on site and reducing installation costs.

R Pillars – Lift-Off Door Feeder Pillars

The R Pillar is a root mounted feeder pillar with a lift-off door for fast, unhindered access to internal equipment. Designed for outdoor environments, the R Pillar range is lightweight, easy to install, and offers a robust solution for housing small scale electrical terminations.

RH Pillars – Hinged Door Feeder Pillars

The RH Pillar is a hinged door feeder pillar, offering secure access while reducing the risk of damage or tampering. Also root mounted, the RH Pillar is designed to protect electrical equipment in demanding outdoor conditions and is ideal for highways, car parks and public spaces.

Key features of the RH Pillar feeder pillar:

• Hinged door with tri-key cam lock (optional lock upgrades available).
• Clear ground line and root mounting for straightforward installation.
• Supplied with fitted backboard.
• Lightweight yet tough stainless steel construction.
• Available in three sizes to suit different electrical setups.
• Can be supplied as a prewired feeder pillar – ready for quick installation.

The RH Pillar is commonly used as a street lighting feeder pillar, or to house the power supply for traffic control, pedestrian crossings or signage.

Feeder Pillars vs Cabinets – What’s the Difference?

At Ritherdon, we refer to our smaller root mounted enclosures as feeder pillars. These include the R Pillar, RH Pillar, BT Termination Pillar, and BT Peg ranges.

Our larger enclosures, such as the RB Cabinet, RMC Cabinet, and PVC Cabinet, are referred to as Cabinets.

These offer increased capacity for complex configurations including EV charging distribution, metering, CT chambers and surge protection.

Just like our Pillars, Cabinets can also be supplied prewired, built and tested in our factory to meet your project specification – helping reduce installation time and ensuring a high quality finish.
