Ritherdon has added a new Bystronic Xpert press brake to our Capacity today.
The new press brake machine replaces two older press brakes and will allow us to improve our stock of enclosures – RB Cabinets and Feeder Pillars as well as Meter Box Repair Units and allow us to keep lead times efficient and improve them in the near future.
The new machine definitely required more room. We cleared the space well in advanced but didn’t quite take into account how tall the new machine would be! It was quite a tight turn height wise, and we had to remove a few obstacles from the ceiling that got in the way, all replaced safely afterwards of course.
The new workstation is now all set up and training on the Xpert 100 from Bystronic will begin next week. The factory will greatly benefit from this investment as the new press brake will increase efficiency, making bending easier and more accurate for the operator.
At Ritherdon we do cellular work and efficiency in one area of the manufacturing process will directly impact on everyone’s work, getting the sheet metal parts bent faster will mean they can move onto the next process in the cell work quicker and more efficiently.
As always, this investment is part of our continues improvement drive and an essential part of being a quality manufacturer.
