Misadventures in marketing: May 2022
Well, it’s coming up to the final Blog and to celebrate coming this far, I may have gotten a little drunk. Okay just kidding. Well, I did, but worry not, it was only at a work do.
Okay, all jokes aside, it has been a very full month here at Ritherdon, with multiple work outings and a new video to plan and film; it has been quite busy.
As mentioned, our first outing was our Company Engagement Day, an event where everyone in the company comes together to discuss the positives and negatives of Ritherdon and improve on the latter.
Despite getting lost on the way to the venue, again, the day was very productive. Each of us were divided into teams to discuss potential improvements. Eventually coming together as one group making a final decision on the specific issues we need to address as a team.

It was also nice discussing things and finding common ground with members of the company I do not usually work with. I’ve always liked these events as it makes you feel truly part of the Company and lets you get to know members in a new environment.
Though you can know a little too much about your co-workers as I found on our other event, this time a social one. The company Ride Out, is a once a year company trip where everyone gets together for various activities followed by food and drink.
This year we decided to go bowling in Blackpool in a fun, if slightly run down, bowling alley eventually moving on for classic Blackpool Fish and Chips complete with having a few drinks in various bars.

Once again, it was nice to socialise with everyone, factory and office, outside a company setting and felt good to have a day out as appreciation for our hard work.
Speaking of hard work, my Apprenticeship is very much in the home stretch. The deadline for my final piece of coursework is fast approaching so it has been all hands-on deck to finish and improve my final Portfolio.
Switching back to Ritherdon work, despite various delays due to illness and coursework, I have finally been able to work on our new video. It will be our RMC cabinet creation video chronicling the production of one of our most popular products.
Looking ahead, June is looking again to be very coursework heavy month, however it will also be a relief to finally have it all done with.
See you next month.
