Misadventures In Marketing: March 2022
Well, it seems I’ve finally caught it, yes that’s right dear reader, after all this time it has finally happened, I have caught…
A sinus infection!!!
What, what did you think I was going to say?
Well on the topic of illness it has been an interesting March for me here at Ritherdon, namely after catching a sinus infection from my family.
Perhaps the most annoying thing, other than my head feeling like a pressure cooker, is that it is my first sick day in over 3 years, never having one at my previous job at Argos, and I feel a little annoyed that I couldn’t power through but still, if you need rest, you need rest.
As a result of coughing and spluttering I decided to take time working from home which would have been simple, if my connection to works VPN managed to work, which it didn’t. Suffice to say work was a little slow going until the VPN was fixed but I managed to persevere making it back into the office in just under a week after infection.
Unfortunately, my illness also further impacted my efforts to complete my dreaded Google Analytics exam, required for my Apprenticeship, preventing me from continuing my revision, losing my momentum, and having to spend even more time revising. Damn. Thankfully, however, through grit and perseverance, I finally managed to pass. Yayyy!

Considering my illness forced me to take a break, it has still managed to be a productive month. I finally finished filming and editing our factory walkaround tour and photographed Nicola, our resident artists’ work samples for the socials.

In other news I have also moved desk. Don’t worry I’m not being punished, rather I am moving desk to make room for our new hire, Steph, in the office. While it is gutting not to be the hottest new thing in the office anymore, I am looking forward to working with her and hoping she can give some of the other team members some much needed backup in admin.
Looking forward into April we have all been invited to a pizza catering at work, for meeting all our targets last year, where pizzas are cooked and made for us here on the premises. I would be more excited, but it’s on April fool’s day and this just seems too good to be true! I will also be beginning my last major piece of coursework, a portfolio of marketing campaigns I have taken part in over the last year.
Looks like a busy month ahead.
