Misadventures in Marketing: December 2021
Merry belated Christmas from us here at Ritherdon.
It has certainly been an interesting first Christmas working here, missing the seasonal bowling party due to already arranging to meet friends in London months before and having to redo my Secret Santa after drawing my own name.
Shame, I knew exactly what I wanted.

Luckily, I did help to choose the bowling teams using an online selector wheel though, as it turns out, nobody in the office had seen one before and the second I used it they acted as if I had discovered fire.
However, on a more serious note, I have made it halfway through my Apprenticeship. Wooooooo. It has certainly been an interesting ride so far, learning whole new skills and improving already existing ones whilst developing a more resilient attitude to work and stress.
While I have indeed learned a lot in the last 6 months, the prospect of impending holiday made me realize just how burnt out I have been. The transition from part to full time work has indeed taken more of a toll than I thought, as has the stress that comes with simultaneously juggling course tasks and company work week in week out.

Thankfully, I do not regret my decision to take up an apprenticeship, the advantages the company has given me plus the people I work with far outweigh the cons of the workload.
As for the new year we are indeed kicking it off with a bang, being tasked to create a new price list for our wholesaler customers, closely followed by creating a new video a month for our Youtube channel. This will be an interesting challenge for us in marketing, but I think we should be able to get some ideas down and pull it off.
All in all, I hope everyone had a great New Year.
Here’s to the next 12 months.
