Celebrating Apprenticeships
Apprenticeships have always been a part of British culture. Many industries have thrived for hundreds of years by offering the ability to learn in a more practical and engaging environment than a classroom.
Here at Ritherdon we are no exception. For over 100 years we have given others the opportunity to learn a trade in our workshop, offering training in fields such as engineering whilst gradually evolving and expanding our trades as time has gone on, most recently offering our first Digital Marketing apprenticeship which has been filled by yours truly.
I came into the role after spending a year and a half looking for Jobs after graduating from university and while it can be unusual for apprenticeships providers to accept graduates, I am very glad they did.
My own experience with apprenticeships has been overwhelmingly positive. My time here at Ritherdon has allowed me to develop of my existing skillset in filming, editing, and writing to levels my actual university course, due to covid, was unable to.

The rest of my time has been spent learning the ins and outs of digital marketing from SEO and HTML coding to Google Analytics and email marketing. As someone who has been educated in a more traditional environments, classrooms, lecture theatres etc I have been able to learn more by applying my knowledge practically rather than simply moving on to the next topic and revisiting it at a later date, (being paid to do so also helps).
My Apprenticeship provider, Apprentify, has been invaluable in providing engaging and relevant topics and tasks whilst making sure to keep track of my progress with regular meetings and reviews to offer any assistance I may need.

Overall, I would very much recommend an apprenticeship to anyone who wants to learn a trade, acquire transferable skills and help build a future, so make some enquiries here and take the leap.
Happy Apprenticeship week!!!!
